South Korean pop sensation Psy's
Gangnam Style has become the second most-watched YouTube video of all time with nearly 620 million hits.
It has been just 12 days since the video rose to number 3 after garnering more views than the music video for Eminem's Love the Way You Lie on October 20.
According to YouTube on November 2, Psy's Gangnam Style music video gathered nearly 620 million views, beating out Jennifer Lopez's music video On the Floor that had been standing at number 2.
He is still behind US teenage heartthrob Justin Bieber's Baby, which has had 790 million hits.
Looking at the record time in which Gangnam Style has gathered nearly 620 million views, don't be surprised if it reaches number one soon.
Psy has also remained at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 music chart in the United States for a sixth straight week after topping charts in countries including Britain and Australia.
No Korean language skills are needed to enjoy the chubby, massively entertaining performer's crazy horse-riding dance, the song's addictive chorus and the video's exquisitely odd series of misadventures.
Beneath the antic, funny surface of his world-conquering song, however, is a sharp social commentary about the country's newly rich and Gangnam, the affluent district where many of them live. Gangnam is only a small slice of Seoul, but it inspires a complicated mixture of desire, envy and bitterness.
